Usually the best way i've notice when traveling out of country is to exchange your money at your destination countries airport. The exchange rate are usually the highest. I know if you exchange in the U.S. it is really low and sometimes even charge a fee, Also it is best to exchange it to dollars before you re-enter U.S. for the same reason.
