Many people have pacemakers that travel all of the time. The metal may make the alarm go off, but all you have to do is show them your ICD identification card.

I'm with Mahalo, you should have a card that says you have a metal device in your chest. Which they could easily check by waving the metal detecting wand over your chest.

Imagine what it would be like to go through security with metal plates, or a metal knee or something.
