Metal detectors

In Nov. 2000 I had ACL replacement surgery. I'm not sure what materials the two screws are made of. In Sept of 2008 I'm flying out of Kansas City to Vegas. Do I need a doctors report on my knee or do I tell the screener about my knee before I enter the metal detector? Thanks, Matt

It's 50/50 if the detectors will pick that up depending on what they used on your knee. This happens all the time and you'll get wanded if it gets picked up and at that point you can tell them you had a knee operation and I'm guessing you could show them the scars if it came to that. Fly safe.
