Motion Sickness

My 6 month old sweet Pekingese seems to get car sick (vomiting) even if going a short distance. How can this be prevented and what are some of the reasons this could happen? I do not feed him before a trip except maybe a treat for being a good boy, eliminating where he is suppose to. Help, we have have a lot of travelling to do and I can't bear to leave him behind. The thought of leaving him behind makes me sick.

Trip anxiety is particularly common in smaller dogs. Your dog most likely vomits for one of two reasons, or both, motion sickness, and or trip anxiety. Which ever it is, or even if both, take heart, your vet can prescribe medicine for this.
