Regional Airline Carriers reducing minimums for Pilots

At DIA in denver, regional carriers make up 40% of the total flights. Because a shortage of pilots, some airlines are recruiting pilots with as little as 20% of the flying time they previously required for new hires.

So rather than needing 1,500 hours of flight time, they only need 300 hours.

We had 2 plane crashs at our airport in 2007, both were highly experienced pilots, no one was hurt in either one thank the stars.

Even 300 hours is quite the amount of flight time for a pilot to have. and unless you go air force, you are paying out of pocket for each and every one of those hours which can add up fast. so they can be quite capable pilots with only 300 hours is what I'm getting at.

and i'm sure it is still safer then driving somewhere.
