What can you do about annoying kids on planes?

If there is a kid running around, being loud, kicking your chair what is a tactful way to handle the situation? Do you find the parent, tell the kid to shut up or tell the flight attendant? Or do you ignore it?

If you're a parent what would you want someone to do if your kids is being annoying?

I would want someone to tell my kid to stop and then come tell me what they were doing so I can punish. I personally am not very tactful with other parents in this situation. I feel if they can't respect me by controling their kid, I shouldn't have to respect them. I am strict with my sons in public. Whenever we see kids acting bad I always say to my son (I make sure the parent can hear) "See - that kid is a brat. I don't let you act like that because people don't like it. See how everyone is looking at that kid like they don't like him/her? Nobody is looking at you like that because you are a good kid. Thank You." It usually makes the other parent mad, but they get the point - And I usually get a bunch of thank you's from other people around.

I would raise them so that they wouldn't be disrespectful on the plane in the first place. but to be well mannered kids, where ever they are.

First of all there shouldn't be anyone running inside an aircraft. This is a very touchy subject. Usually parents who have children who misbehave do no want anyone pointing it out to them. They become very offended and protective. Let them and the Flight Attendant know. See if there is an available open seat and move to it.

You could say something to the parents but there is a possibility that the parents won't care. Bring the matter up to the flight attendants they have the ability to tell them to sit down because running in the isles is a hazard.

If things continue ask if you can get your seat moved if the flight is not full. Perhaps maybe you could get moved up in class for all the inconveince. Some airlines might be willing to do that to keep you as a costumer.

Yes, this is an all to familair one for me. The last time i flew, a man behind me kicked my seat the whole flight. Thank God it was only a 1 hour flight!

I think the best thing to do would be to move seats, if you can, and if there available. Also, letting the flight attendants know so they can fix the problem. Most likley, if someone said something to someones kids the parents could get mad, and that might make the flight more unpleasant. Plus, if there letting there kids behave like that already, they probably wont care to let them keep on no matterwhat you say. The flight attendant would be more apt to fix the problem.

However, if its a baby crying...which is also a common one, well, its a baby...it'd be rude to say something. I always bring my iPod with me though so all i usually have to deal with is kicking.

I always make sure to bring extra snacks with me ,, So that if this happens I do not offend the parent ,,some times their are children that not even their own parent can handle usually these children have problems and we have too feel for that parent as well .. I would offer help ,,,, lets sing a song together ,,,ask the paren if they can have a peice of candy or play with our game boy for a while .. Point out to them things in the sky ,,, explain thiings to them ,,,chances are thier parent needs a break as well ,,,, Other then that try and close your eyes and grin and bear it ,,,or ask the flight attendant ,,,,,,god bless I hope this has helped
