"The "largest" as in square feet or in terms of land mass is Denver/DIA which is situated on 34,000 acres or 53 square miles of land.

Atlanta & Chicago are often in the top spot for "largest airport" by passenger volume but neither has the largest land area.

Last year Atlanta/ATL was the "largest" with a passenger volume of 85,907,423 people and Chicago/ORD was second with 76,510,003."

"actually the largest airport in the world is the King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia. It covers a whopping 55,040 acres, but only serves 8 million ppl per year compared to Chicago's O'hare."
