Do you think we will earn for asking questions soon on webanswers

I think it would be good if there was an option to earn for asking questions here on webanswers.

But how do you think the admin should reward those for asking questions? Should it be 60% for an awarded answers to the person that answers the question, 35% to admin and 5% if you asked the question in the first place?

I find it difficult to know how they could split the percentage so that everyone benefits. However I do know for sure that if we were rewarded for asking questions I would ask alot more and create more backlinks to my questions.

I think that would be nice for some people, but I would worry that it would kind of cheapen the experience for people genuinely looking for answers. Right now the format is kind of natural, people ask questions that they really want to know the answer to for various reasons that are not monetarily based. The site is geared towards helping people.

If Webanswers started giving revenue shares for asking questions it would open the site up to a lot of abuse. People would come on and ask keyword heavy questions just to get a share of the hits. They wouldn't be asking for help, they would be asking just to get money. This is all fine and dandy and I am not averse to generating online income, but it might make the site look spammy. I would also worry about the people who come on here and ask the random questions might get left out or have their questions overlooked because they are not as revenue generating friendly.

That being said, if this is the direction Webanswers decides to go in I would still be happy to contribute on both ends. I like your idea of a smaller split for the asker, that might alleviate some of the issues I foresee with this kind of program.

OK what we are doing here is building a data base that you come and get answers and also look up answers to questions and if the answer is already there then you dont have to ask just search for it to get the best possible answer and this is what i know about this site i think LOL

Laura, you can create backlinks to the awarded answers you do have. Looking at the awarded answers you have, I think several of them could do quite well in the search engines if they had more incoming links/traffic to them.

You can monitor the traffic and inbound links found from this page in your my account area

I have created a few backlinks for my awarded answers so far, not enough I know. I do plan to create more backlinks in the future. As for the questions I hope we do get some type of award for asking as it would be great. I hope you are right kbky

The people who own and run this site are very fair with us and i have worked here since this was new and always been treated with kindness and the people who run this are trying to find the best way to expand the web answers site and make the most for us. and i think that regardless they will come up with even more then this in the future and we have to work to build the entire data base and when this comes of age then we will be (very happy as iam already ) and like the old saying goes Rome was not built in a day! i seem to think that when you get your answers up and along and build your own web base in here and with a little time and a little fun work then you will start to enjoy the profits that seem to grow with each passing day . and questions and even answers that are not awarded are still in the profit margin for you because of the point system that they have. so you dont have to get the award to get money . but imput a good amount of answers every day and make it steady and you will watch this thing grow .

We've listened to your comments and suggestions about earning money on questions you ask. For a limited trial period till the end of 2009 we're going to be allocating a percentage of the extra impression pool on questions asked by you. This is a limited test to determine if we can encourage additional questions and traffic to the site over the next few months. Remember any inbound links you can provide to your questions will only make you more money in the long run.
