Why did WebAnswers.com take my account away and take all my answers away?

I was logged in as SafetyMgmt and I have the professional knowledge to answer all DOT related Safety, Drug and Alcohol questions with confidence and reference to the Federal Motor Carrier Regulation Book. I answered almost thirty questions and spent almost 12 hours doing it know I'm gone from existence with my account and all my answers. I have tried to get WebAnswers to e-mail me the reason and Faxed them and they refuse to get back with me on this. Maybe someone out there can shed some light why they will not respond and why my account and answers were pulled?

Let me tell you.. I had the same experience twice with webanswers.. They shut my account and all my awarded answers. Thats so not fair! I just made a new account and try to answer honestly so everyone will understand my answers.. I even email webanswers and this guy respond to me once then they totally ignored me after.. But there is a god... People must be fair

Your account was flagged and deleted for spamming WebAnswers with promotional links and/or phone numbers. WebAnswers is a platform for providing answers for the community, not as a promotional tool or for affiliate marketing. You are allowed to put whatever links you want on your user profile page, but you are not allowed to promote your services in each and every single answer that you post.

Just like you aren't allowed to prompt users to award your question as the best answer. It is not proper WebAnswers etiquette to do so.

@Toni2 I don't think we ever got the email you are referring too.

Another way I've seen people removed from WebAnswers is by setting up a duplicate account to award themselves answers to questions they've created.

Silly, really, to cheat for a few pennies, and the award only matters if its on a subject popular enough to get people to click on the adsense links.

Thanks for responding publicly about that, sidelko, and thank you for caring about your site so much that you maintain it regularly. There are other sites which just look so terrible because they are full of spam and honestly aren't very pleasant to visit because of that.

I try to mark as many promotional links as I could, if I truly think they are trying to promote something for themselves rather than answer the question. Whenever I've been in doubt, I just left it alone, but sometimes it is just obvious. But on other sites they seemed to always ignore the flags, and it was almost like the bad guys got away once again.

I would say to anyone thinking of a way to cheat - You don't have to cheat to get this site to work for you. It really works so well, that you can play by the rules and still make money. Also, its pretty obvious when you cheat, and either WebAnswers or Google will see it, and you'll get caught. Just answer other people's questions with your best answer, and ask any questions that you've been wondering.

I'm wondering, though: toni2 = tami23? They write their questions the same...

There are a couple of folks around here that seem like they have the same writing style, or who frequently get awarded by the same people over and over again; those people should be dealt with as well.

Thanks to everyone, WebAnswers did contact me back we straightened out the problem with us putting in a contact number. We did get our account reset to SafetyMgmt2 and are answering all DOT related questions with professional answers and will not give any phone numbers, e-mail or other contact info. We do want to be helpful to those seeking DOT related answers.
